Understanding your WHY is a starting point to fulfilling it
God created you for a purpose. Your purpose is not only to know and experience His amazing love, it is to fulfill your WHY! In other words, do you know Why God created you? Do you know your specific purpose? Knowing your WHY is so important and it changes everything about life and the way you live it.
WHY IS KNOWING YOUR “WHY” SO IMPORTANT?
I’m going to give you three ‘F’s to help you remember!
- Knowing your WHY makes life more FULFILLING. Many people who have not discovered their own sense of purpose, can become captive to something which is known as “Shining Light Syndrome”. In other words, when they come across someone pursuing a dream or goal which looks exciting, they are attracted to it like a moth to a light. After a time of being involved, they lose interest – they are not fulfilled as they hoped they would be. Then one day, they see another exciting “shining light” and are attracted to that. This pattern is often repeated over and over. I did this myself for many years and know firsthand that it is no way to live! God wants you to find your own WHY and when you do, this is what will truly satisfy the ache in your soul to have a fulfilling life.
- Knowing your WHY makes life more FUN. Jesus said that He came to give us life in abundance. When we discover our WHY life becomes more fun and joyful. Your WHY is going to bring you great joy, yes – even when it has its challenges, so don’t settle for a listless and disappointing life, Jesus said “I want your joy to be full” (John 15:11).
- It makes life more FRUITFUL. In John 15 Jesus said to the disciples “I desire that you bear MUCH fruit”- not just a little! And then He stated the reason. He said “It is to my Father’s glory when you bear much fruit”. In other words, the more fruitful you are, the more God is glorified. And discovering your WHY and pursuing it is the true key to fruitfulness.
So I encourage you to remember these three F’s – Fulfillment, Fun and Fruitfulness. Make a decision to find your own personal WHY! Nothing is more exciting in life than knowing and fulfilling the purpose for which you were created.
